Should I Travel To Guanajuato City

The answer is yes.

This city is so unique just like San Miguel de Allende. Everyone in Mexico knows this city. The first time it comes to their minds when you say Guanajuato is mummies.

Museo de las momias Guanajuato

It’s known for its silver mining history and colonial architecture. Its network of narrow streets, alleyways and tunnels is typified by the Callejón del Beso (Alley of the Kiss), named because the balconies are close enough for a couple to reach across and kiss. This is a must see place in the city, bring your other half with you, you’re going to need it.

What I recommend you to do here is to take a tour they are extremely affordable compared to other places. Make sure they take you at least to these 3 places.

El Pípila

El Pípila

This statue is called el Pípila he was a hero for the people in Guanajuato. At this location if you’re taking a tour they will explain you a little bit of history about him. Also here is where you can take some amazing breathtaking images.

The mummies museums

Before the entrance to the museum was $40 pesos now I believe is around $120 pesos or less. This museum is the most famous museum in Guanajuato and is a must see. Here you’ll find mummified people. Once you pay your entrance they will explain the history behind them and give you a tour of the museum. You’re allow to take photos. But flash has to be off.

Cristo Rey

Beautiful and meaningful statue of Jesus right of the top of the tallest mountain in Guanajuato. Cerro del Cubilete is one of the most historically important religious shrines in Mexico. For some people this s statue rebuke to the suppressors of religious freedom.

Guanajuato has way more to offer but this are the top 3 things you won’t want to miss.

I gave up on Guanajuato’s food. For some reason I can’t never find good food. Some people have even said that you’re eating “dog food” I don’t know about that but I do know every time I eat in this city the food makes me sick wishing 30 minutes.

But don’t worry just outside Guanajuato there is a beautiful town call La Sauceda

And there you’ll find the best food ever there are a bunch of food restaurants where you can eat all you want.
