Should I Travel To … Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do you accept sponsored reviews?
No. Should I Travel To … does not sell destination ratings or positive reviews.
Why doesn’t every city get a “Yes”?
Every city does not receive a yes because the best destination depends on the traveler. Every trip involves tradeoffs, and what works for one person may not work for another.
Why did my favorite city score lower than another one?
Every city is evaluated using the same rating framework. A lower score doesn’t mean a city isn’t worth visiting—it simply means it performed differently in specific categories.
Are these rankings objective?
Our framework is standardized, but travel is ultimately personal. We aim to provide consistent information so readers can make their own decisions.
What factors do you use to rate cities?
We evaluate cities using ten categories: Cost & Value, Weather, Crowds, Transportation, Things To Do, Food, Safety, Culture, Cleanliness, and Uniqueness.
Can a city with a lower score still be worth visiting?
Absolutely. Some destinations appeal strongly to certain travelers despite scoring lower in one or more categories. A city’s strengths may outweigh its weaknesses for your travel style.
Do you only cover cities in the United States?
We focus on major US cities and destinations, but we also cover popular international cities.
What does “3 Pros. 3 Cons. You Decide.” mean?
It reflects the Should I Travel To … philosophy that every destination has strengths and weaknesses. Rather than telling travelers where they should go, we provide balanced information so they can decide for themselves.
